UC Berkeley's graduate student support includes hundreds of privately funded grants and endowments that support students pursuing graduate degrees. Each fellowship was created by alumni or friends of the University who seek to help Berkeley students achieve their educational goals.
These donors request and sometimes require that the University report to them concerning the status of their funds and the recipients of their awards. Berkeley's Office of University Relations is responsible for releasing this information to student aid donors.
